Wow! What an amazing first Sunday at Watkins Middle School (Map)! Thank you to everyone who worked so diligently on Saturday morning to get everything set-up and ready for us. We already feel at home!
Next Sunday (the 13th), we go back to our regular Sunday morning schedule:
9 am Traditional Worship
10:10 am Off The Hook! Summer Family Bible Study
11:09 am Contemporary Worship
Our adult classes meet at 10 am:
Ministry Is A Lifestyle - Meeting Space B
Journey Through The Scriptures - Meeting Space C
The Present Word - Meeting Space D
Jr. High Bible Study (completed 6th through 8th grades) meet at 11:09 am in Meeting Space C
Elementary Students (completed Kindergarten through 5th grades) sit with their parents at the beginning of the Contemporary service (11:09 am) for praise and worship music, and are then dismissed to their classrooms for our summer kids' program: Designing Disciples. Each week kids will be learning more about becoming disciples of Jesus Christ in a VBS-style atmosphere.
As always, childcare for infants, toddlers and preschoolers is provided all morning.
Lastly, there are a few new features that I'd like to share with you:
Games & Activities in the Café: We've added some games and activities for the young and young at heart. We're hoping this will make it easier for parents to keep their kids entertained and supervised between services.
Prayer Room: Just down the hall from the Café (near the women's restroom), we have designated a prayer space. This space is designed as a quiet spot for reflection or prayer during or between services. If you'd like someone to pray with you, Prayer Teams will still be available at the end of each service.
Nursing Station: We've set up a private area down the hall from the men's restroom (left side of the stage) for nursing moms. Restrooms in schools just aren't set up for a mother's comfort, so we've tried to create a space that provides privacy, but still allows our nursing moms to hear the worship service.
We're working on getting additional signage, but, please remember to park in the back parking lot at Watkins (doors are open on both sides of the building) so that we may leave the front parking lot free for our guests. See you Sunday!
