Many of you know Kenny and Vicky Scianna and their daughter Blair. They have moved to Tomball, so they aren’t with us much anymore, but this Sunday we are getting a special visit. Blair is a member of a church choir for people with special needs called The Joy Disciples and they have agreed to come and lead worship. Unfortunately they can only be present for 11:09 service, but we’ll take what we can get!

Sunday, December 6 we are going to have a unified worship service– at 10:00, followed by a meal together as a congregation. It is a chance for all of us who are normally scattered over three worship services to be together and celebrate what God is doing for us and through us. We’ll be asking for you to RSVP so that we know how much food to order.

Sunday, December 13 we will have a congregational meeting at 10:00. The purposes of the meeting are:

  • To elect officers for the coming year
  • To discuss our church’s vision and future, along with presenting the budget for next year
  • To set the pastors’ salaries for next year

Pledge Campaign Results – We collected 84 pledges for a total of $590,458, which is 72% of the 2010 budget. Historically we’ve been very comfortable meeting the needs of the budget when we’ve had 75% of the budget pledged. We did very little publicity for the campaign this year and you may have missed it entirely. If so, you can pick up a pledge card at the back of the cafeteria. While the elders aren’t informed of the amount of each individual pledge, the overall amount of the pledges lets us know if we are being smart with how we plan next year’s budget.

I know that many of you are in uncertain financial situations right now due to the economy. Please don’t fret about your current inability to make a pledge! God is taking care of all of us. Personally, I think the congregation has done an outstanding job of supporting our mission together. Thank you for all you do!

See  you Sunday!

Pastor Elliott
