This Blog shares information about our journey to becoming an inside-out church.

This is our last Sunday at Labay Middle School. We are having one joint worship service, beginning at 10 am. After the music, kindergarten through 5th grade kids will go to our children's area for some fun activities. Babies, infants and preschoolers may be dropped off at childcare before the service begins. During the service we will have a brief report on the results of our capital fund campaign and our next steps for purchasing a permanent facility.

The following Sunday, June 6, will be our first Sunday at Watkins Middle School (click here for a map). To make things simpler for that first Sunday, we will also do one joint worship service beginning at 10 am.

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday!

There is good news on all fronts this week:

  1. The total raised for the capital fund campaign stands at $1,262,000. This is amazing! I am so thankful for everyone's generosity and the blessings of a good God. The dream and vision to establish a permanent facility for Lifepath Church are definitely moving forward.
  1. We are moving to Watkins Middle School on June 6. We announced last Sunday that we had just been informed that Labay Middle School is doing renovations and we have to move out by the end of May. Yipes! We took those lemons and decided God wanted to make lemonade by moving us into our target area a little earlier than anticipated. Here are a few details:

I hope you've had a great week. I want to remind you that this Sunday is the last official Sunday for our capital fund campaign to purchase a new facility. So far we have 79 cards turned in for a total of $807,534. We're doing well but I'd love to see us go over the 1 million mark with another 20 or 30 pledges.

After the pledge campaign ends, we will, of course, accept additional pledges but we will be talking to bankers soon. So, if you haven't made a pledge, we'd love for you to do so this Sunday. If you need another card you can click Read More »

Don't forget to turn in your pledge cards for the capital fund campaign. As of yesterday we had 33 cards representing $560,714 in cash and pledges.

The pledges are a big piece of what we need to talk with the bank, so even if your pledge isn't a big one, it's still important!

If you need another card you can ask our treasurer Carol Castro to mail you one, pick one up on Sunday, or click here to download one from our website.

I'll see you Sunday!

Our Capital Campaign Fund Kick-Off event last Sunday evening was a terrific success. As we announced, our goal is to raise $1.5 million towards a future permanent home for Lifepath Church. As of Monday, the 18th, we have received $130,730, and a total of $447.300 pledged. We are well on our way!

Our real estate broker and New Property Team continue to seek out additional suitable properties, and will be meeting with our bankers again soon. Please remember that the Capital Campaign Fund pledging process ends on May 16. The bankers will be looking not only at the total amount pledged, but also the total number of Pledge Cards that were received. Even if you think that your contribution is too small to warrant a Pledge Ca ... Read More »

This Sunday evening is a big moment for our little church! We are having a fellowship dinner at which the property committee will present the following things:
  • Information about three possible properties for our permanent home as a church
  • Timelines for getting into each of these properties
  • The kickoff of our campaign to raise the financial support needed to acquire one of these properties
Here are the specifics:

If you've ever wondered whether or not what you've been doing as Lifepath Church can really make a difference, please read these exerpts from a card we recently received from Tipps Elementary School:

Thank you for all you have done to support our school this year! Your kind actions have not gone unnoticed. You have shown the love of Christ to us as a staff and to our kiddos! Thank you for the staff snacks and for going above and beyond on the carnival!  Love, Dorothy W.

Thank you for everything ya'll do for Tipps. We are so fortunate to have ya'll as part of our "family." Jan C.

We are busy finalizing our plans for the Capital Campaign Kickoff Family Night Supper. You won't want to miss this opportunity to hear from our New Property Team and get the inside scoop. Help us to prepare appropriately by clicking Read More »

Last Sunday, we had an incredible worship experience. Our special guest, Pam Scott, who is the Director of Partners in Education for Cy-Fair ISD, sent us a heartfelt email earlier in the week, and I wanted to share it with you:

To All,

What an honor it was for me to spend Palm Sunday with each of you and all the very loving members of Lifepath Church. I am seldom caught without words but I found myself unable to speak with usual ease because I was in awe of the electric atmosphere I felt from the time I was met at the door by Elliott until I left that same door. That atmosphere was charged with so much love, joy and compassion and warmth, beauty and honesty,  and yes, wonderful music and humor too! You all have a beautiful way of having everyone feel very much "at home" at church and loved and I can clearly see why your members wa ...

Last Sunday, we accepted two new members: Jason and Sharon Holland, and their children, Abbey (10) and Jordan (8). When you see them on Sunday mornings, please be sure to welcome them!

This Sunday is Palm Sunday (Mar. 28) and it's going to be a big day.  We are having one combined worship service with communion at 10:00am. The little ones (led by the Jr. High students) will come in waving the palms and we'll celebrate Jesus as our king. It's always fun to worship all together as a family and it also means our set up crew gets to sleep in an extra hour. Set-up begins at 8am this week only. Yay!

After the worship service, we'll have an informational meeting and tell you about the plans for the coming year. Our New Property Team will report on their progress. We'll also update you on how we are strengthening the ministries which we normally think of as internal: children, students, worship, etc.
